Dabai is an indigenous seasonal fruit which grows naturally in the wild and can only be found in Borneo Island, especially Sarawak. It is commonly known as ‘Sarawak olive’ due to its resemblance to olives. It can be found along the Rejang River from Sarikei to Kapit. Dabai fruits is oval and has a thin, dark purple or black skin with yellowish inner flesh. Dabai fruit also recognize as nutritious fruit, rice in mineral, high antioxidant and high energy fruit.
The Dabai crackers is make from a dabai fruit which can be found naturally and famous in Sarawak. The taste of dabai cracker is unique and crispy.
Preparation for Dabai Crackers
- Open the package.
- Pour adequate cooking oil into wok and heat it with medium fire until 180C-200C.
- Fry the raw dabai cracker until expand. After expanded, lift and drain excess oil.
- Enjoy the dabai crackers.
